Great Staple Tor on Dartmoor National Park
I have liked something about this photo of Great Staple Tor on Dartmoor since I took it earlier in the year but just haven’t felt happy with editing it until today. I love the shape of this rock formation; it reminds me of the Sphinx. I think this formation is often looked over by photographers, many whom use it as a starting point for their composition of the more familiar stones of the tor. I love the subtle tones in the rocks of the sunset ebbing below the horizon in the distance. I wish there was an elevated point to show the expanse beyond the rocks to the south.
I have been struggling recently with editing my photos and it turned out I was well overdue my next eye test! I still have really good vision but it had degraded slightly enough to cause me issues on a computer. Being on a computer 14-18 hours a day is probably what has caused the issue in the first place. You never know, I may be able to win the lottery and live the dream of being a travel photographer, and spend much less time in front of a desk.
